Tory Burch Holiday 2008 Stocking Stuffers and More: BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,

When I think of candy-color accessories that are both on-trend and classic, Tory Burch always tops the list. From the cult favorite Riva Flats (that never seem out-dated and are collected in every incarnation by die-hard TB fans) to the original Tory Tote, there's a lot to love in the world of Tory Burch. For the holiday season, especially as we all count our change, TB has plenty of stocking staffers. My personal favorite is the nautically-influenced Tory Tunic Key Chain for $45. With the current holiday season, I'm loving all the colored metallics and the fuchsia-orange combination (my wedding colors!!). The holiday collection is inspired by Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball. The ball was held in the Grand Ballroom of New York City's Plaza Hotel in 1966. It was considered the social event of the season and the guest list included several glamorous women of the time including; Marella Agnelli, Babe Paley, Candice Bergen, Lee Radzwill and Mia Farrow. The collection was also inspired by Tory’s childhood in Valley Forge where she used to love watching her mother and father get dressed for an evening out. Ah the glamour, the romance, the fashion!! My top picks include the Briza Cardina, a big splurge at $850 but def an investment piece ideal to dress-up jeans or add warmth over a black cocktail dress. I also LOVE these pink-orange gloves ($95). And how could I have a TRB list without including a bag. The new Anna Satchel ($495) has all shine and patent we come to know from TB, but isn't logo overload. I like the discreet "TT" logo on the side. I'm digging the shape, love the double zipper and wide opening. My one request, can we see this bag in coral?

Botkier Pop-up Store in NYC : BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,

I love pop-up stores. It gives me a chance to see what the designer would do if they had their own store, an entire venue to engulf me in their bag-a-licious decor. A store is a home for a brand, a chance for the customer to better connect and fully embrace the designer and in some instances meet the designer if like Haden-Harnett the designer's studio is based in the same complex.

So who's the next designer to test out the feel brick-and-mortar? BOTKIER. Here's the scoop ...

BODHI Safety Clutch on GOSSIP GIRLS: BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,

What a busy week of events (which I skipped - ya morning the loss of my beloved poodle Simbachka so not in the mood), but busy week of pulling samples for two upcoming TV segments and plenty of bag-a-licious buzz. I want to take a break and share some GOSSIP GIRLS scoop.

Next Monday, December 8th, keep your eyes on “Little J” (played by Taylor Momsen) as she makes a stylish entrance with her Safety Clutch by BODHI. The Safety Clutch, with its patent detailing, luxe fur, and gold safety pin handle, is a delightful vintage-inspired look. I'll actually have this very bag myself soon. The retro style, made in the 1950s by Walkfort, Ingber & Co and others, is so me. Allison Burns also gave it shot a few years bags, but the BODHI version is best. Luxury materials, impeccable attention to detail and the inspirational quotes inside make this brand worth investing in. The Safety Clutch (retail price: $748) is also available for purchase at http://www.bodhibags.net/.
I'll be posting a full review of the BODHI SS09 collection on BagTrends.com tomorrow or Friday. Their preview last month was fab. Sipping campaign with friends and gossiping with Philip Bloch... all in a days work.

I Deal With Ideeli for Great Deals: BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,
I've been addicted (purely in virtual window shopping sense, for now!) to http://www.ideeli.com/ for about a year. They have WICKED deals on some hard-to-score-a-deal-on brands like Etro, Jamin Puech, Labertson Truex and more. PLUS, they have amazing giveaways on a regular basis. Today's was a Balenciaga bag in a yummy plum color that I would never buy, but would love to own. Last week they have a sale on Clara Kasavina - and you know how I feel about my Clara! When I say deals i mean ideal deals or rather "ideeli" deals ... hehe. 40, 50 60.... 90% off deals! It's just nonsense or madness or just happy times for bagistas like us. (PS the Labertson Truex clutch featured at right is $400, but retails for over $1000!)

$50 Gift Card to SmartBargains.com: BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,

Here's a cyber Monday special that will last throughout the month of December. SmartBargains.com is offering you bag-a-licious divas $50 gift cards. To redeem your one-use only gift code just go to SmartBargains.com and use this promotion code at the checkout: 1001327343.

Here are a few items I found on http://www.smartbargains.com/. I love delicate flower knots on this Prada Tote. If you're in the market for a romantic bag, for $800, it's hard to say no. Not quite as artistic, but a great bag nonetheless, this Satchel from HYPE is a timeless. The color is perfect shade of chocolate, there are plenty of pockets, and the hint of patent shine on the handles is just right. Did I mention it's only $100?
