I had the pleasure of previewing the Spring/Summer 2007 Swarovski and Daniel Swarovski handbag line and I was impressed. Here's a snippet of my article for WSAToday.com.

Swarovski is poised to become the next big player in evening bags. Although only in the bag business for about fifteen years, Swarovski has evolved into a fashion-forward brand on trend with colors and silhouettes. It’s not surprising that the crystal accents are phenomenal, but after viewing the spring/summer ‘07 lines, it seems the Paris-based design team has stepped up its game.
“The details in the collection are unbelievable,” David Gruning, director of communications for Swarovski in the United States, told WSATodaty.com during a recent press preview. From the patchwork python purses, to the delicate ruching, and meticulous beading along the rhodium handles, it really is all about the details.
The new pieces were presented in sand-filled, glass boxes that stood on white podiums. This, along with large mirrors and muted lighting, gave a soft, washed vibe to the crystal oasis. The “Sands of Time” collection is “all about earthy materials and color and a desert feel,” Gruning said.
The Daniel Swarovski collection is the couture line, using exotic skins like python, crocodile and stingray, often all in one bag. The alternating textures create ... READ ON
