The day has finally arrived, the New York City premier of Sex and The City 2. When Sarah Jessica Parker and the gals – Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, and Kristin Davis – step out onto the pink carpet at Radio City Music Hall, tonight, all eyes will on the fashions and my eyes will be on the bags. Will SJP sport Judith Leiber, Swarovski or maybe the gold Chanel clutch she holds in the promo posters? Will Kim Cattrall opt for something sliveringly, exotic and sexy from Adriana Castro? – which is actually featured four times in the movie!! Will Kristin Davis hold Dior? Maybe Cynthia Nixon will shock us with a tribal print number from LaLucca? It’s anyone’s guess. What I do know is that there are some amazing handbags throughout the Sex and The City 2 movie and lingering trends will be made.
Sex and The City 2 fashion trends
With the Abu Dhabi setting, Moorish prints and dessert colors will be as hot at the Arabian dessert. (LaLucca has one-of-a-kind, artist options under $400)
Scarves worn in the hair, neck and bag will be key (stop by Henri Bendel today or tomorrow to check out the Sabina Les scarf trunk show)
Kaftans are a must in yellows, browns and corals (I got a great Michael by Michael Kors option from Marshalls for $39 vs msrp $110.)
Bold jewelry, already a fashion staple, will continue to rain supreme. (Kenneth Jay Lane and H&M offer solutions at both price points. For maximum fashion and financial do purchase two or three Clipas ($19) and where them as bracelets – then use one on your bag.)
Stay tuned for more fashion trends and handbag happens as I cover the VIP premier tomorrow at the Paris Theater, an event sponsored by my good friends at HP (hi Donya) and Swarovski (hey Melissa). Then I’ll pop into a cab to attend the launch of Patricia Field’s beach collection/ Sex and The City 2 celebration of her work. Finally, a night cap at Bergdorf Goodman for yet another VIP Sex and The City 2 party. I wonder what marvelous handbag I will spot? Perhaps Sarah Jessica Parker will make an appearance.
Have a bag-a-licious day!
