m. Clifford Designs Week on BagTrends.com, Get To Know Martha Clifford, 20% OFF all bags: BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,

It's a big week in BagTrends land, as we kick off m. Clifford Design Week. We have balloons, confetti and plenty of bags!!

To kick off the week check out my recent Getting To Know Q&A with the designer behind m. Clifford Designs, Martha Clifford. We talked about her favorite bag (we are in sync about the terrific Terrell tote!), facing the fear of launching your own business (I hear you sister), and much more.

To keep things supper festive we're doing 20% OFF all m. Clifford Designs handbags, including the recently added Meghann satchel which I will be featuring on TV in December for a travel story. ;)
20% OFF with code mc20, valid through 11/16/08, may not combine with other offers.

Have a bag-a-licious day!

Aksuona Handbags, affordable luxury: BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,

Quality, hand made and affordable are not often used to describe one brand, but UK-based Natasha Anouska hopes to change that with the launch of Aksuona a line of, you guessed it, quality, handmade and affordable evening bags that will dazzle even the toughest of handbags connoisseurs. If you’re looking to add something to your existing repertoire of clutches, perhaps some metallic luster or a bold violet gemstone number, but you don’t want to break the bank, Aksuona is a good choice. After an inspiring trip to India, designer and founder Natasha left the not-so-glamorous world of pharmaceuticals to pursue her passion for purses. British baristas have been loving her fun designer and moderate prices for a whole year and now it’s time for stateside gals to enjoy. READ ON for my full interview with designer Natasha Anouska and shop the Aksuona collection.

Getting to Know Ignes Handbags: BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,

After having a successful career in the London art scene, Maria Estrada decided to go back to her native Uruguay and launch a fashion business. Her brother, who was working as an investment banker in New York also decided it was time to use his education and talents in his home country. Together they founded IGNES Handbags in 2005 to produce quality accessories using local talent and local leather. I had the chance to chat with Maria via phone on one of her many trips to Uruguay to find out about her passion for bags and her dedication to her home town.

Also Maria wanted to get my take on fall 2007 trends. From the season's must-have color to thoughts on Marc Jacobs' fabulous season, check out my thoughts at: http://www.ignesbags.com/index.phpurl=http://www.ignesbags.com/newsletter/0707.php

Getting to Know Spencer & Rutherford, an Assie Treat: BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,

An Australian handbag line with worldwide appeal, Spencer & Rutherford began almost by accident. It all started with a bag Kim Michaelides, the brand's creative director, designed and created for a photo shoot for an advertising client. After fielding numerous requests for more bags, Kim launched Spencer & Rutherford and has never looked back.

Since those humble beginnings, Spencer & Rutherford bags have become something of a collector’s item. READ ON
