Treasure Tuesday, Lia Sophia Industrielle Cone Necklace: PAMELA PEKERMAN

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week NYFall2011 goers are getting the Red Carpet treatment this week as Lia Sophia debuts their “Industrielle” Red Carpet Collection to the fashion press. Celebrities like Maria Menounos, Liv Taylor, Kerry Washington and Emma Roberts already previewed the line during the recent Sundance Film Festival – and picked up some of the Art Deco inspired pieces. Lindsay (aka LS of @TeamPamPekerman on twitter) and I had the pleasure of seeing the collection ourselves, last night. What better way to end the work day, before a Valentine’s Day date at the Hayden Planetarium, than to feast one’s eyes on unique and well-priced jewelry? I loved the clean lines and powerful look (without the weight) of the necklaces, bracelets and rings crafted from filigreed metals, marbled resin, smooth enamel, crystals and leather. The latter material was a first for Lia Sophia, a brand with a 35-year history of creating unique jewelry, and empowering women to run their own businesses. After previewing the line, I was asked to pick a piece for myself – not fare to give me choices when there were so many worthy options. But, I finally settled on the Cone Necklace with black diamond crystals and green enamel in matte gold ($300). It was Deco done right with just a hint of 70s to boot, if worn ultra long over a prairie-style dress.

Mystery Monday, Boudoir Accents from Fredericks of Hollywood: PAMELA PEKERMAN

Happy Valentine’s Day guys and gals. I’m sending you all big hugs, positive energy and love! But, I’d like to share the best gift you can get or give for Valentine’s Day, or any day for that matter - lingerie. Ladies, if you think you won’t look good in sexy lingerie, remember this: you are already in bed with him and he loves you – all of you! Guys see us thru the real lens, not thru the evil eyes we tend to cast on ourselves. So, channel your inner diva, school girl, dominatrix, officer, housekeeper (don’t judge), whatever floats your boat, and pick up a salacious and slinky number from Fredericks of Hollywood. I’ve trusted my bum and boobies to this house of hotness for years, and, well, nine years later my husband and I are very VERY happy. I’ll leave it at that. Happy Monday. Don't forget your key bedroom accessories (and asetts!).

Footwear Friday, Via Spiga Andes Bootie: PAMELA PEKERMAN

I’ll hold off on the bell bottoms, but hitting on spring’s 70s direction (which will linger into fall 2011) via accessories, is how I’ll do the hustle into the trend. Via Spiga’s Andes ($99) peep-toe, ankle boots hit the mark with their clog-esque vibe, wooden platform heel and tassel detail. Being more restrained, I’ll opt for the black calf leather with the darker wooden heel; but, for the full Bianca Jagger flavor, the caramel color is the way to go. Rock it now with thick hosiery, a flouncy floral dress cinched with a belt, and a cross body camera bag. Wear the shoes in spring with a short romper and a floppy hat.

In the mood to win something? Show your love for Via Spiga and flaunt your style by entering their BE MY VIA SPIGA VALENTINE Facebook Contest. Simply upload a picture of an outfit and select a pair of Via Spiga shoes to complete the look. Then, write a caption describing where you would wear your look for a chance to win a $200 Via Spiga gift card. The contest begins on February 14th at 8:00am (CST) and ends February 21st at 11:59pm (CST) www.facebook.com/ViaSpiga

Mystery Monday, Rebecca Minkoff Main Squeeze Foldover Bag: PAMELA PEKERMAN

This weekend, while helping my mother with grocery shopping and other errands – poor thing is on crutches due to a triple fractured ankle caused by the excellent clean up job the NYC Sanitation Department did during the December 2010 blizzard – I realized my mom is experiencing a handbag emergency. In order to carry her own handbag while on crutches, she needs to give up her totes and satchels and try a hands-free alternative. The Main Squeeze Foldover from Rebecca Minkoff ($395) is a great option for anyone, like my mom, who doesn’t want crutches to cramp her style. On-trend with its 70’s, dirty orange shade and saddle bag style, this crossbody also has plenty of easy-to-access outer pockets. Plus, the foldover with magnetic snap closure is ideal for anyone that can’t fuss with zippers, but wants to have the security of knowing unnecessary fingers aren’t sneaking inside.

Treasure Tuesday, High-Low w/ $2Million Tiffany Earrings on Natalie Portman & Shoshanna Earrings from QVC: PAMELA PEKERMAN

Sunday evening was crazy town. My stomach is still recuperating from the pleasure of eating my husband's homemade (yes, dough too!) apple pie, and my eyes are equally still filled with delirium from the yellow-diamond earrings that dazzled on Natalie Portman at the SAG Awards. These two million dollar, tear drop earrings are total glam and my only hiccup is that they are borrowed. Gone are the days when gals like Elizabeth Taylor actually owned their diamonds. Ladies of Hollywood, if you make bank, invest in some REAL estate. Natalie, you are an amazing actress - and that's an understatement. You have many more years of great films to go. Get yourself these 27.95 carats of diamond goodness! Sure you might be photographed more than once in the same pair, but when they are these pears (had to go with the pun, sorry) who cares?

Now, as for the rest of us, I thought it best not to ruin these Tiffany beauties by offering a look-for-less, especially since getting a hue that is the perfect vibrant yellow of a yellow diamond is very hard, and anything less than perfection will look cheap. Instead, I found art-deco drop earring from Shoshanna on QVC that we can all enjoy ($27). Would you wear them? Which is your favorite color?
