Adventures at HSN, The Morning After: BAGTRENDS

Dear Bagistas,

WOW WOW WOW. What a crazy weekend. For those who tuned in to HSN on Friday, thank you so much for your support. I was so excited that the Calla bags were received so well and thrilled HSN was able to make it a $49 Today Special. I truly thought it was a good deal - as I would never take on a project I didn't believe in. The Steal and Camel were my favorite colors, though sadly they did not read too well on film. The rose pink, which wasn't something I could ever wear, but I could see some people wearing in hot climates or maybe on vacation, was one of the best sellers.

Bags aside, I adored working with the designer Jenny. She's a doll. And, she had her family with her during some of the tapings. She has two of the cutest children - one 13-year-old girl that was beyond well behaved and poised and a little 1-year-old baby gal. Jenny and I had great chemistry and when we had hosts that loved bags as much as we did, it was a thrill to go on live. One of my favorite hosts was Callie Northagen. We had a blast backstage in the makeup room chatting about bags, fashion, her kids, Jenny's kids and my fiance. So many more stories to tell about sleep deprivation, loading up on chocolate, mid-day runs to the hotel for showers, backstage goofing off, dancing on the catwalk -yes I did it! .... maybe during the 4th of July break I'll have a minute to share some more fun stories and scoop. Right now I'm off to Philadelphia to do a beach bag trend segment for Your Morning, on the Comcast Network. Tune in at 7am!!

I do want to thank my friends at Tracy Reese for lending me the fabulous white and and grey dress with lace on top and pleating at the bottom, from the Plenty by Tracy Reese fall 2008 collection. I'm so buying this sample once the pr firm is done with it! I also did a little shopping at edressme.com - my go-to source for dresses - right before I left for Florida. For Melissa in North Carolina, in regards to your email, that amazing black dress I wore during my nighttime shows is from Tadashi. It does voodoo for all your curves. If you're hourglass, you have to own this dress. Trust me the model isn't working it as well as you will!

Oh, and one more "thank you" to the amazing staff at The Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park for being so warm and helpful during my morning runs to HSN and my odd requests for 2:40pm wakeup or 7:35pm dinner or 11:30am runs on their complimentary shuttle to Walmart to get a bikini so I could swim in their pool and relax after my 24-hour+ day was done. Bonus: I had this great view of the water, wooden bridges and a bell tower structure -- very tranquil. I highly recommend this hotel if you plan to be in the St. Petersburg, Florida area.

Have a bag-a-licious day!
